This course teaches emergency vehicle operators proper driving techniques, defensive driving, and the skills needed for practical application in emergency situations.
Includes: Mental and physical aspects of driving. Defensive and emergency driving techniques. Vehicle maintenance and operation. Practical obstacle course and lab work.
Class Fee: Free, Textbook Fee: $ (3.5 Hrs, Min. Age: 18)

This program addresses the several safety and logistical issues commonly associated with emergencies occuring on major highways. The course will cover in depth the Unified Command Structure, work zone management, and emergency response procedures recommended for for responder safety. Scene access, incident stabilization , multi-agency response, and responder safety is addressed in this program.

The goal of this program is to stimulate the thought processes of the students and to make them aware of the potential tragedy, financial loss, legal, and moral responsibilities that they have when operating emergency vehicles. The program will verify proficiency in both the knowledge of driving and emergency vehicle and the practical application to emergency vehicle driving.
You must bring an emergency vehicle for the driving portion.
